In this post, I will explain how to create this brooch made with recycled nespresso capsules. This particular brooch is very simple to make. You just need to flatten several nespresso capsules, then glue them together with a decorative bead to make this brooch.

What you need:

2 nespresso capsules,
Glue,
A brooch back,
A sheet of felt,
A decorative bead or button.

1. Empty the nespresso capsules

You can empty the nespresso capsules easily by using a shapr knife. Simply cut of the foil top, and tease out the coffee grinds with the knife.

Once the capsules are completely empty, rinse and clean them well to get rid of any remaining coffee.

1. Flatten the nespresso capsules

Flatten your nespresso capsules. To do this I put the capsule on a flat, protected surface. I then put a piece of wood over the capsule, and hit the wood with a hammer to flatten the capsule.

2. Glue the capsules together

Glue the two capsules together so they overlap by about 1cm.

3. Stick a piece of felt to the back of the brooch

Trace around the capsules onto your felt sheet to mark out their shape. Cut out this piece of felt and stick it to the back of your brooch.

4. Glue on your decorative bead

Glue a decorative bead the the front of your brooch. You could use an old earring that has lost its partner, or a recycled necklace. You could even make your own decoration using parts of a nespresso capsule, wire, or something else entirely.
