Making paper flowers out of recycled books, buttons and string

After seeing all the beautiful paper flowers in the Adeline Klam shop, I decided to have a go myself, using pages from an old book and some recycled magazines…

After visiting Adeline Klams shop, I learnt how to make a five pointed flower by folding up a square piece of paper into fifths. Here is a video of how it’s done.

You can make many different forms of flower, depending on how you cut the paper once you have folded it . Here are a few examples:

You could use these flower shapes for many different things. For example : making cards or table decorations, wall art, threading on a beautiful garland, decorating a string of fairy lights, making little hair clips or other jewellery, or simply making a bunch of flowers – which is what I did.

To make the flowers, I used these flower shapes, buttons, string and some floral tape. Depending on the thickness of the string, you might also need some wire to give extra strength to the stem. Here is a video of the making of one of the flowers:
