Recycled cork notice board

This recycled cork notice board is made out of old wine corks that have been sliced in half. With very few raw materials you can create this beautiful and practical notice board yourself. The perfect project for those who love their wine!

Ce tableau liège en bouchons recyclés est fabriqué avec des bouchons de vin coupés en deux. Avec peu de matériel, vous pouvez créer vous même ce tableau qui est à la fois très beau et pratique. Le projet parfait pour ceux qui aiment boire du vin !

Soak the corks in hot water to soften them. This step is really important as it can be quite difficult to cut the corks without soaking, and the easier they are to cut, the less likely you are to hurt yourself. Leave the corks in the water for about 10 minutes before cutting them.

Faire tremper les bouchons dans l’eau chaude pour les ramollir. Cette étape est importante puisque c’est assez difficile de couper les bouchons sinon, et plus c’est facile à couper, mois il y a de risque d’accident. Laissez-les environ 10 minutes dans l’eau chaude avant de les couper.

Cut the corks in half lengthways with your knife. Be really careful not to cut your fingers!

Coupez les bouchons en deux en longueur avec votre cutter. Faites attention à vos doigts !

To prepare your frame, you need to take out the glass part, which you don’t need. Keep only the solid back panel of the frame onto which you will glue your corks. Glue this solid panel into the frame with your glue gun. You can also add tape to the back to secure it further, and to cover the joins.

Pour préparer votre cadre, il faut enlever la partie en verre dont vous n’avez pas besoin. Il vous faut seulement la planche solide derrière. Collez cette planche dans votre cadre avec votre pistolet à colle. Vous pouvez ajouter du scotch aussi pour le bien fixer.

Before gluing your corks, arrange them all inside the frame to check first that you have enough corks, and secondly to plan how and in what pattern the corks will be laid out. You might need to cut some of the corks even more to fill the frame completely.

Avant de coller vos bouchons dans le cadre, disposez-les pour vérifier que vous avez coupé assez de bouchons, et pour préparer le motif réalisé avec les bouchons. Vous aurez peut-être besoin de couper encore quelques bouchons pour bien remplir votre cadre.

Glue the corks one by one into the frame. Be careful not to burn yourself!

Collez les bouchons, un par un dans le cadre avec votre pistolet à colle. Faites attention à ne pas vous brûler !

And you’re done. Simply hang the frame on the wall, or prop it up on your desk and then get pinning!

Et c’est fini. Accrochez le cadre au mur ou mettez-le sur votre bureau et vous pouvez commencer à accrocher des jolis objets !
